The Snake Stone

Plot:

James is a 15 year old boy, who is very fond of diving and really good at it. He's adopted. He doesn't know anything about his Past. And the only

few things he's got from when he was a baby are in an small box. He was

never interested very much in  those things. But then, one day he looked at

them. There were some clothes and a small piece of paper. On it was a message

'Look after Sammy' stood there. He was a bit confused, because his name is

James. But suddenly he recognised, that Sammy had to be the name his mother

called him (that's because James' real father has this name). On the other

side of the note he could see a few letters which belong to an address. Also in

the box was a stone which looked like a snake. He took those two things out

of the box. James found out, which address the letters of the Sammy-note

show. In Half-Term he decided to go there. But he didn't want to tell his

parents, the Logans. They thought that he was going to London to train for an

important diving-competition with Ken Eldred. But he went to Holygate. But

there he didn't find his mother. He just found the place where his mother

gave him away. And he also found Mrs. Ellie Champion. She told him

everything what she knows about how he was found. In fact she was the person

who found the baby in the mailbox.

James decided to went over Horsenose Tor to look for his mother. The first

part of the way Clair went with him. Clair is the daughter of Frances, who

is the daughter of Mrs. Champion. When James reached the other village he was

very tiered and was near giving up. He sat on a bridge thinking about what

he should do. And there he saw a little girl who was jumping into the water.

She was very good at it and so James told her a special jump. Suddenly her

mother came. As she saw the Snake-stone, which James has with him she knew,

that this was her son and James also knew, that this was his mother! She

just asked if he's happy and went away. James drove back home and knew from

there on where he belongs toto the Logans!

Characters:

James (Samy):

He is the main person of the story.

Samy is not very tall, but he is muscular, because of the diving

training. He is a good diver and his parents want him as

champion diver.

James´ adoptive parents:

They seem to be very nice and warm-hearted, because James lives a happy life with them. The father wants his son to became a professional diver. He is also his trainer.

Clair:

She is a little girl (ca. 9) with blond hair and it seems that she like/love James. Clair also likes to go diving and James even teaches her to do a somersault. James thinks she is a natural diver.

James´ mother:

She was very young when she >>James zur Welt brachte<<.

The real father of James is unknown, because his was a chipsy.

James´ mother`s father was very angry when he heard, that she

would get a baby. He even wanted to shoot her. So she put it in a

basket by Elly Champion`s house.

Elly Champion:

She is an old woman, who found James when he was a baby. First

she wanted to look for the baby, but she was to old. So she gave

James to adoptive parents.

Theme:

The main theme is that James wants to find his mother and where he belongs

to
